Tonge Moor: Hairdressers and beauty salon in one space

A HAIRDRESSER and a beauty salon join forces to meet all your care needs in one space.

Charlotte Holdbrook, owner of Charlotte Elizabeth Beauty, needed someone else to come and rent the premises with her.

And it worked out well as Lauren Kitchen, owner of hairdressers The Whitebox, was looking for the next big opportunity to grow her business.

Charlotte added: “It’s an ideal space for two businesses to support each other in the same building.

“We will work as a team and help each other, which is a huge positive.

“It’s exciting to be able to offer a range of relaxing treatments and hairstyles like balayage, all in one place.

“Lauren is absolutely brilliant at what she does.”

Charlotte says she is extremely grateful to have come through the pandemic, admitting that it was really difficult to run the business, especially on her own.

She hopes working in the same space as Lauren will take the pressure off and be a huge boost to both of their businesses.

She added: “I hope this can bring us a whole range of new customers.

“It’s really difficult to have your own business.

“And I’m a single mother of two boys.

“We’re both really driven and driven, so I’m really looking forward to the future.

“The pandemic has been really tough for both of us, but we’ve come out the other side.”

Since everywhere has gradually started up again, Charlotte says business has exploded.

She said she thinks people put themselves first and want to feel good more.

She added: “We are both very busy, even with inflation.

“I think people are taking time for themselves, really putting themselves first, and taking better care of themselves.”

Charlotte has over 10 years of experience in the beauty industry, with a wide range of qualifications in a multitude of beauty therapies including massage, skincare, nail care and holistic therapy .

She learned her trade at Springs Beauty in Harwood, but never wanted to be a businesswoman.

Charlotte said: “Over the years I have learned and grown.

“But I really fell into beauty and learned how to be a businesswoman.

“And it was after working with two people who were a massive inspiration in my career – that I myself was inspired.

“They both have their own living rooms and are very good friends.

“I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Both Charlotte and Lauren hope the business can create “a Manchester vibe” with high quality services at reasonable costs.

Lauren is expected to join Charlotte at Tonge Moor on Friday July 1.
