Polish woman’s dream of opening her own beauty salon comes true in Burton

A Polish woman who moved to Burton nine years ago with the dream of opening her own beauty salon has finally seen it come true.

Malwina Dominiczak always wanted to start her own business and studied for a degree in beauty while living in Poland.

When she first arrived in Burton she was providing home care and jumped at the chance to start her own business when a building was put up for rent in Derby Street and that’s when – where MD Beauty Salon was born.

Malwina, opened the salon last month and offers a wide range of treatments including facials, eyebrow waxing, henna, mesotherapy, massages, nail and body treatments.

The salon will eventually be open six days a week and currently only takes appointments, but from September Malwina hopes to offer walk-in service as well.

The 30-year-old, who lives in Stapenhill, said: “I’ve always wanted to start my own business and decided to take the opportunity when I saw the building.

“I immediately liked the store and knew this was where I wanted to start my business.

“It’s the perfect location and the place is big enough for me to give all the services I wanted to offer.

“I moved to UK from Poland and left my brothers and family behind as there are more opportunities here and I’m so happy I did as it allowed me to finally get to where I wanted to be.

“I love that where I am you can see my salon from all angles and I have no doubts that this will help generate a lot more walk-in commerce.

“I will be offering a free henna service for women over 70, and I hope to see as many people as possible take advantage of this offer.

“My business is still new, but so far things are going well, I have a very good feeling about it and I am confident that once more people are trained things will get even better. more.”
