A mom from Alexandria has made her dream of opening her own beauty salon on the shores of Loch Lomond come true.
Nail technician Lynne Scott could never have imagined having her own premises around the same time last year when Covid shut down her small business.
But the determined, award-winning entrepreneur has worked hard and has now opened Luscious Nails and Beauty in Lomond Shores.
She said: “Last year I had to close for five months during the summer and it really touched me.
“There were so many businesses closing and I was lucky enough to be able to keep my head above water.
“When we reopened I realized there were more people than ever who wanted dates and thought it was the best time for me to make the most of it and take expansion.
“The wheels were set in motion in search of premises and I found a unit at Loch Lomond Shores that was perfect.
“It is an absolute dream for me to have a living room.”
Lynne has come a long way since a bold career change saw her give up her job with the NHS to pursue her passion for nails.
She converted her garage at her home in Beechwood into a living room, which became a favorite among locals over three years ago,
In addition to nails, the new salon has a team of staff offering a range of beauty services, from hair to massages and botox.
Lynne added, “I wanted to create a premium one-stop-shop for all of your beauty needs.
“We also do makeup and we are perfect for wedding parties. You can come in and be pampered while enjoying a small coffee or a glass of prosecco.
“We are trying to create an experience for people. I think people are enjoying this even more as we come out of the pandemic.
“They want to feel good and that makes such a difference to your well-being.”
It’s an exciting year ahead for Lynne, who is also a finalist for the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards in the Nail Technician of the Year category. She won the nail salon of the year at the 2019 awards.
